Richard, Just to clarify -- I have not done any meaningful comparisons between Derby and PostgreSQL. We have some sites using PostgreSQL and some using Derby and in general all are running fine. Our newer sites end up using Derby because it has yet to cause us any grief. We get occasional OOMs on both setups.
