It seems we also need SOLR search for magnolia 5, and will be implementing a 
module for this.

Perhaps some collaboration is possible, even if only at the level of 
information exchange?

Hi Christian, unfortunately at the moment I have no plans to update the SOLR 
module to 5.x., basically due to lack of time. You might be able to run it 
anyway as a legacy module by wrapping the old page as an EmbeddedPageSubApp, 
see /modules/ui-admincentral/apps/devTools for an example. As the 4.x UI is 
very basic anyway, you might try to port it to 5.0 and maybe contribute it back 
;)
