The current UI experience is very nice and interesting in Magnolia. GMail offered in the first versions the same approach, but afterwards they decided to offer also a basic html based interface (this will work on `all´ browsers).
We support strictly firefox, ie 6 and safari 1.3 for the editors. Every editor should be able to get access to such a browser.
The effort to make magnolia full backward compatibility would not pay off.
