We could build it for testing purposes. But, for production,

mixture between an official (golden) release and binaries built by
yourself, in that we provide you with those builds.

No, you have not. You have come across a change in Castor that has
been introduced quite some time ago, and that has been discussed on
the mailing lists in quite some length. To break it down, this is a
change that we were required to introduce as the old code gneration
simply wasn't compliant with the specs.

Yes, mechanically you did the correct things to get the sources frmo
SVN and build them yourselves.
