OK , solved the problem I downgraded Java version to Java 7 and it solved the problem.. for some reason Java 8 won't work with Jmeter.... Thanks anyway

To confirm, try opening some other Swing or AWT-based Java app. If you get the same error, it's definitely not a JMeter problem.
