I think your having trouble as you are trying to use the binary version of
lenya rather than the src version.
Hmm. I was afraid of that. Could I have known that before?
It turns out you can't create a new publication with the binary version.
I did create - in my sense - a new publication with the binary version. I
copied the default publication, adapted the *.xconf, *.xslt and whatever to
fullfill my desires and was happy with my fast made (well,...) new pub. But
then I wanted to implement lucene and the trouble started. While having
trouble with lucene, posting and waiting, I read the docs again and stumbled
over the "necessity of deployment". So I tried to be a rtfm-one. But I still
don't get it. When is a deployment necessary? And whats it good for?
And if you can't create (or deploy) new pubs with the binaries, what is the
sense of them?
I'd start again. Print out the "installation instructions", "new
publications how-to", and the "deploy publications how-to".
Hmpf. Ok.
Download the src zip file for lenya. (Ignore any bin or, did you mention
"windows installer"? zips)
I think you mean I should take
http://apache.kgt.org/lenya/SOURCES/apache-lenya-1.2.3-src.zip
Follow the instructions verbatim, keep to the suggetsed directory
structures if you can.
