I think that JIRA  http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNGECLIPSE-105
MNGECLIPSE-105  will be relevant to the requirements you added. There is a
link to an unofficial, unsupported build of M2Eclipse incorporating it, in
case you want to test drive it.
