I didn't have time to read and digest the discussion in that issue's Jira last
night. I have just done so and have amended the wiki page accordingly.
Eugene, it seems you are the only active committer on this project - is there
no-one coming on board soon?
I was just looking at the long list of jira issues. It's surprising considering
the large number of people I know who work with Eclipse, WTP and maven everyday,
and the massive potential for productivity increases the combination holds.
At the moment, I seriously think the most productive configuration is to ditch
WTP completely and run the webserver seperately with its context set to
src/main/webapp and using war:inplace to get the classes and jars in there.
I guess the co-operation between eclipse and m2eclipse is the chief amongst
evils at this time, and all other things being equal, for the reasons given
above, this should be a thriving open source project capable of winning a few
awards and accolades.
I hope the issues move out of the doldrums soon.
Regards
Adam

MNGECLIPSE-105 will be relevant to the requirements you added. There is a
link to an unofficial, unsupported build of M2Eclipse incorporating it, in
case you want to test drive it.

Eugene,
I'm happy to enter requirements onto the wiki page given.
I have just made a start. I haven't cross-checked it with Jira yet but will
do soon and I'll add the link if found.
I am using m2eclipse quite intensively but my knowledge of the eclipse
mechanics is pretty sketchy. Hopefully through use of the eclipse WTP
newsgroup I'll be able to improve on that.
I expect to post work-arounds on the wiki too, so that it will be a
resource to help get other m2eclipse beta testers up to speed quickly. I
know there are several others posting to the list so our combined effort
should be appreciable.

Anyways, I've suggested several times that anyone interested in WTP
integration should start putting together requirements on the project
wiki. I just created page for that, so please feel free to edit it. Let
me know if you have issues with permissions.

As far as I can tell, nothing has gone into trunk.
The patch MNGECLIPSE-105-wtp2.0.patch in MNGECLIPSE-105 adds support
for deploying dependencies to the web container, filtering the scopes.
I can't speak for MNGECLIPSE-107, but by the description of the
solution, it will do nothing useful (as WTP is not looking for
m2eclipse specific attributes).
Can someone please tell me the situation regarding M2-eclipse and WTP
integration, the main details are in the following 2 jira issus.
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNGECLIPSE-105
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNGECLIPSE-105 and
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNGECLIPSE-107
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNGECLIPSE-107 What is happening with
this? What code has been integrated into the trunk, what
functionality can I expect if I build from the trunk? Will
integration with WTP 2.0 be included in the 0.11 release, when ever
that will be?
