We build POM editor on top of SSE and I do not know if SSE version available in RAD7 provides everything we need. We are not going to purposely break RAD7 support, but this is really a question of available development resources. If you feel strong enough about RAD7 support, please consider contributing to the project. Testing development builds with RAD7 would be very helpful, for example. And if you can work on RAD7 specific project configurator, that'll be just awesome.

Done (voted).

However, what, exactly do you mean by a fully fledged POM editor?

Existing editors (eg the WebSphere 5.1 Test Environment server settings
editor from WSAD 5.1.2 onwards [eclipse 2.1!!]) would appear to support the
same types of functionality that you may want. So it is certainly doable
under eclipse <3.3.

There are new features available in 3.3/3.4 that we may want/have to use to implement new m2eclipse functionality, like, for example, full-fledged POM editor.

Having said that, we do consider keeping m2eclipse core functionality working with RAD7. You probably want to vote for http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNGECLIPSE-653 so we can have better idea how popular this request is.

We are also considering to reduce support of Eclipse 3.2, mostly due to the limited testing resources and also because of new dependencies on WTP/XML components used for POM editor.

-1 That drops off all of the IBM RAD/RSA support that for V7 is 3.2
based.

As for support. If you write it for and target 3.2, it will automatically
work on 3.2, 3.3, 3.4 etc. Eclipse has never broken binary support yet,
so I
would not expect them to with your plugin. :-)
