Jacob, I think part of the reason a separate forum isn't being used
is that the volume on the MIdgard list isn't high enough to motivate
participants to split from it. I've noticed on other lists that people
gravitate to secondary venues when they're getting 1 - 2K messages
per month from the main list. At that level of participation there
are usually enough people involved with specific interests to
allow concentrated subgroups to form.
So I agree that a web-email hybrid for the main list is the way
to go for Midgard, and from my point of view it would be great to
have this integrated with Commentext, which otherwise would
have the same problem as your forum.
So yes, I would be interested in working on this with you.
The other key issue is sgml compatibility... anyone interested
in working on that?
