you probably have an old library + header files laying around.
please check in these places and remove anything related to midgard:

$prefix/include/
$prefix/lib/
$prefix/share/
$prefix/bin

$prefix is /usr/local for a default install.

Then reinstall the lib, and retry ./mkall
