I'm wondering if anyone else who uses Nadmin (which is a great Midgard application, thanks to Linux Centre HK) has noticed its default behaviour is to attach images (or any blob) to the topic tree, rather than to the article, even when editing an article. I assume this is by design (we're using Admin Studio 1.4.1), but was curious what other people feel is the best approach -- especially when there is no easy way of associating a blob (attachment) with the article, except for maybe IMG tags in the article content.
I think it would be better to attach the item directly to the article, not the parent topic of the article. Of course, this makes it harder to share images etc. between articles in the same topic tree, but does make the link between an attachment and the metainfo for the attachment easier to store in the article. I've tried to hack on the Nadmin code, but it's non-trivial, and would appreciate advice if there's any easy way to change this behaviour. Nadmin is a great application, and I'd love to recommend it to a customer, however this aspect is somewhat problematic. (I found that according to the manual http://www.hklc.com/midgard_manual/topic_91 this behaviour is as designed.) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
