If it is at all possible in your situation, I would run a few simulation upgrades on a separate machine and find out which one suits you best, and then perform that path on your live machine. If budget does not allow that luxury, I'd suggest making a copy of your existing database with a different name, say mgd142 and also copy the blob directorytree to a new location, say /var/www/blobs142/ . and do your testing there. It is a bit harder to do transparent testing that way, but it can be done. As to your question of repligard overwriting previous changes: yes, it most probably will. In the past, my local changes have been minor, and I chose to redo those changes by hand after the upgrade. I used printouts of the versioning pages of nadmin to keep my changes.
