These are articles, within topics, that are being picked up in the
menu on the left-hand side of the old admin page. Not pages or other
objects. It could be that the article search in the admin page is broken,
I suppose.

In this case it wasn't nadmin. I was upgrading Asgard, using the
./configure --with-install=upgrade from midgard-data-1.4.2-1.
