Boy, could the PEAR group make this any more difficult for people who are
not power users? I am pulling my hair out trying to get this. Go-pear,
which is the only documented method to install PEAR, requires all kinds of
things that you simply don't get on a hosted system: lynx, access to run
php from a telnet session, access to php directories.

I have also tried another tool that is supposed to help out (pear-web), but
just get a 404 error when I try to run it.

Can anybody help me out with PEAR? Sorry to ask here, but I am also unable
to subscribe to the PEAR mailing list. By the way, I have PHP 4.1.1, and
it's configuration includes '--with-pear' .

Thanks,
Randall
