Thank you for your reply Edwin,

> apachetl configtest is OK. Strange enough, I've loaded mod_midgard back in apache and now I can (re)start Apache once. When I do that, I can access
midgard.myurl.com/ but that just shows a directory index with /images in it. midgard.myurl.com/asgard returns in a Page not found.

Another strange thing is, when I restart Apache again, it fails again without an error message. I have to unload mod_midgard, uncomment the relevant lines in httpd.conf and restart Apache to get it back to work.

After that it all starts again as described above.

I haven't used the RPM's by the way, but compiled from source.

Do you have some other ideas?

Hi Maarten,

I have Midgard running on a SuSE 9.0 box with all the default RPMs and only Compiled Midgard. So I dont think that you should remove or compile any thing else.

Maybe just your apache config is not correct.

Pleasy try

> apachectl configtest

and that should come out ok.

Subject: [midgard-user] After installing Midgard, Apache doesn't start

Hi all,

I just did my first install of the Midgard Framework. As far as I can notice, it went well.

After finishing my installation I've ran /usr/sbin/ldconfig so SuSE Linux 9 is able to find the Midgardfiles.

When I tried to restart Apache after that, it would not run. It doesn't give an error message. It just returns to the shell and doesn't server any pages anymore.

When I unload mod_midgard Apache runs fine again.

Unfortunately I'm pretty new to Linux and completely new to Midgard, so I've got no clue where to start to solve this problem.

I hope anyone can point me in the right direction. I use SuSE Linux 9 (no KDE or Gnome), Apache 1.3 and PHP 4.

I've read somewhere on the internet that I should have removed my existing PHP-installation, because Midgard would install one? Is that true?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Cheers,

Maarten
