Midgard should map the HTTP request to the records in database (host --> page). Make sure that your VirtualHost is having the same ServerName as the host table in the DB.
Also, since you had problems starting Apache I'd try to recompile mod_midgard. Pay attention to the configure parameters (look at configure --help and INSTALL file).
The instructions at the site are pretty old and may not apply even in 1.5.0 installation any more. CVS has 1.6.0-alpha2 running.
My host table has the right entries.
Another user posted the same problem at http://www.midgard-project.org/documentation/installation/framework today. Could there perhaps be a problem with the new version?
1.5.0 is not exactly new anymore. ;) Anyways, Midgard maps requests to database.
By the way: Isn't there a Midard forum or community site? I have some trouble searching through the list archive.
Basically everything is in the MySQL db so you shouldn't have asgard directory in your file system.

Not a problem. We could use more information from your system though. Error logs, installation notes (what parameters you used while compiling), etc...
