The images for the Aegir should come with the package as db blobs, which are stored into filesystem. So...
1. Check the blobdir directives from your midgard-data.conf. 2. Trace the image, SELECT * FROM blob WHERE name="filename"; 3. See location field and trace that to the file in the blobdir.
Also, check the blodir access rights (should be accessible by apache).
