Menno:

I think you are almost there - at least you've find the right password to start mysql and apache :)

What's left is getting to the midgard admin page...

1. try http://127.0.0.1

next

2. http://127.0.0.1/aegir/

- You seem to have tried Aegir earlier, perhaps aegir (all lowercase) will work ?

let me know

regards,

Robert

Without a password, neither the apache nor mysql start. Without them, safari has nothing to connect to..

If you have admin access to the mac (which is likely if you are the only user), then type in the password you use.

With your suggestions I get a little further:

Last login: Thu Sep 1 23:29:06 on console
Welcome to Darwin!
menno-tillemas-imac-g5:~ menno$ sudo cd /sw ; sudo /sw/bin/ mysqld_safe &
Password:
[1] 224
menno-tillemas-imac-g5:~ menno$ Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /sw/var/mysql

menno-tillemas-imac-g5:~ menno$ sudo /sw/sbin/apachectl restart

httpd not running, trying to start

Is this what should happen? I can connect to my webserver Apche, but the page on aegir gives a 404.

On http://10.0.1.3/~menno/ I get a "template" page and directions where to put my personal webpages. Pages on 127.0.0.1/Aegir and 127.0.0.1/Midgar or 10.0.1.3/~menno/aegis or /midgar don't exist.

Kind regards,

Menno Tillema
