Was this fixed in 3.5 as some people have indicated. I am running with 3.7 beta.
Generally all the records that can be continued to extend past the 8224 byte barrier already have support in for that, but occasionally we discover one that can be large but we didn't know that. If you're hitting it with 3.7 final, then you'll almost certainly need to open a bug report and describe what record you're hitting it on, and how to trigger it
