Are you able to share the contents of the file? If so, please create a new bug in bugzilla and upload it.
Also, since you're using the eventusermodel, it's worth trying it quickly with the regular UserModel code (HSSFWorkbook). I wouldn't expect any differences, since they largely use the same record code underneath, but it's worth a check all the same
