Nigel, Just want to confirm Maven is setup correctly. Can you confirm that you have a settings.xml file, with the proxy correctly configured, stored under ~/.m2/settings.xml (i.e. in a .m2 directory directly below your home directory)? If that is the case, could you try deleting the maven-archetype-plugin directory from below the /org/apache/maven/plugins directory in your maven 2 repository and try again?
