AppFuse is complex. AppFuse is not easy. AppFuse is great. @Tim: AppFuse is a great introduction to Spring, Hibernate, Struts2, Maven, JPA. Only then I dived deeper into the technologies behind AppFuse. So, from a newbie perspective, I strongly recommend the AppFuse tutorial. You can quickly go trough the basics and implement a running app.
@sadsad... I'm sorry for your first negative impression, but you cam always try harder and ask questions in the forum. Unfortunately, AppFuse is not always responsible for errors, sometimes problems depend on the running OS and framework versions. As everybody will confirm: AppFuse is complex, but it will simplify your J2EE developer life. And to correct your "failure" statement, there are some AppFuse-based sites in production state running on the web.
