Hi The error is in the PersonAction and not the Person class - it says this in the error trace.
Can you please post your /home/xyz/dev/myproject/core/src/main/java/com/mycompany/app/webapp/action/PersonAction.java What IDE are you using? If it is eclipse, then please try from the command line "mvn eclipse:eclipse", then go to eclipse and refresh the project (right click and refresh) and then you should be able to see your error straight from eclipse.
