Steve,
Sorry I rushed and could not help it but I tried it out on my component.
And it worked all of sudden. Everything works now thank you very much for
your persistence.
Did it fix itself? Or did I clean up maven and get the right stuff from
Ibiblio.org pulled down using your directions? Yeah I think the cleanup
pulled the right stuff down. Here's the breakdown of what happened.
When I went into the bootstrap-syntax-manager component and ran the CLI with
the -repository command I got this:
$ merlin.bat target/classes -execute -info -repository c\:/Documents\ and\
Sett
ings/Administrator/.maven/repository/
${user.dir}:
C:\cygwin\home\Administrator\projects\ldapd\HEAD\sandbox1\bootstr
ap-syntax-manager
${merlin.home}: j:\apache\avalon\merlin
Version: Merlin SMP 3.0
Environment: Windows XP 5.1 Java 1.4.2
Deployment Home: ${user.dir}/home
System Repository: j:\apache\avalon\merlin\system
Runtime Repository: C:\Documents and
Settings\Administrator\.maven\repository
Library Anchor: ${user.dir}
Kernel Path:
Deployment Blocks: file:/${user.dir}/target/classes/
Override Path:
Server Flag: false
Debug Flag: false
[INFO ] (kernel): installing: file:/${user.dir}/target/classes/
[INFO ] (kernel): dissassembly phase
[INFO ] (kernel): disposal phase
It worked just fine without problems. Hurray!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I went ahead and tried the simulate goal with the merlin plugin it
worked like a CHAMPION!!!! Here's what I got on the same component:
$ maven merlin:simulate __ __

OK - seems like we two seperate issues.
1. merlin cli repository handling
2. plugin status

Sorry - don't have MSN IM.
Lets try and sort things here for now.
First off lets focus just on merlin cli and relative to the hello demo.
I know you have already done some of this already, but can I get you do
the following:
1. delete %MAVEN_HOME%/plugins/merlin*
I.e. make sure you delete both the merlin-plugin-1.0 directory
and the merlin-plugin-1.0.jar file. Unfortunately multi-version
plugins in Maven are not supported so we have to patch things
manually.
2. delete %MAVEN_HOME%/repository/avalon-* directories
3. delete %MAVEN_HOME%/repository/merlin directory
4. bring you merlin installation to a virgin RC3
5. go to the hello demo and do the following:
$ maven clean jar:install
$ merlin target/classes -execute -info
6. post the results
After that we can start to look at repository stitching once we know
that the basics are functioning correctly.
Steve.
