Howard Henson, author and main contributor of the Jetty-Phoenix component that is currently hosted on mortbay.org, has given me permission to temporarily assume moving his component forward. At one point, McConnell offered me some space in the avalon-sandbox for this project, so I'd like to see if that offer is still open.
I would certainly like to see what you doing, contribute, etc. I need to checkout a few things but basically I don't see any problems with you having commit access to sandbox. Even if its just sandbox we would need to vote you as a committer which would happen on dev - and based on what you have been doing I'm more than happy to propose the vote.
The HTTP server component works either in Phoenix or Jetty.
Short term roadmap:
1. Get the project in the avalon-sandbox, which includes an Ant build system so everyone can use/build the component 2. Update the project to use the latest version of Jetty (v 4.2.14) and improve some of the user documentation. 3. Update the project to use a maven build system. 4. Update the project to use avalon-meta instead of phoenix-meta (???)
Long term roadmap:
1. Await some user feedback to establish some priorities.
Let me know if this sound good, and I'm especially curious about getting some avalon-sandbox space.
Have started some actions move this forward.
Cheers, Steve.
