Well, yes and no. I mean, the whole reason I write documentation for Avalon is because I don't understand it. :)
I think you have that backwards somehow :)
First you need to understand, then you can write it down as docs. The other way around is not possible. If someone seeks understanding it is more useful to tell him things like:
- read the source - ask on the mailing list - search Google
