How is he supposed to write the docs himself, if the reason that he wants them is that he doesn't understand Avalon to begin with? :)
well, a possible good model is to volunteer to write documentation and at the same time ask questions about the stuff that should be in that documentation. I'm much more likely to spend my time giving answers if I know my response will be digested, simplified, generalized, formatted and submitted as documentation. I'm sure many OSS developers feel the same way.
