You should try the spellchecker from Netscape 6.1. Try to download/open the spellcheck.xpi in Beonex Navigator - a dialog should ask you, if you want to install it. Should work. Note that the downloadable version of Beonex Comm. is outdated (and there is unfortunately no newer version yet :-( ).
