Still no Joy. To prove a point and to see if I was hallucinating, I reinstalled Boenex. The Spell Check icon appears on the mail composer task bar until the new account setup window appears (I wasn't hallucinating). When it is closed or completed the icon vanishes. This is without the spellcheck.xpi installed. The behavior is the same when I try to install the .xpi except that I never see the icon at all, that will only be visible from a fresh install of Beonex. I even tried installing Beonex then the spellcheck.xpi before trying to access the mail client.. The result was the same. For all I know the spell check is alive and well, but I have no way of accessing if it is. As there is no alternative entry in the dropdown menus and no pop up menus in the composer, it looks like the vanishing icon is the only way of activating the spell check Seems like a bug to me. Pity, I really do need a spell checker badly, in the html composer as well as the mail. So it's back to NS6.2 for the time being, and and that intensly irritating registration window (not exactly a stunningly attractive piece of design work either, to add insult to injury).
