OK, I'm just saying that "numbering" of headings should be a styling
option set by the page author and NOT the default set by the wiki;
in a parallel to numbered vs bulleted lists.  Given that virtaully all
pages were created in an environment of no numbering, I think its
fairly safe to assume this can be the default...

I am not sure what you mean by "this  must be done by hand" for 
the page uploads...

The numbering is ok, it probably must only be fixed on most pages. I 
have it done for example at http://wiki.apache.org/cocoon/TimLarson. 
Before it counted 1. - 15.

Colors and layout are indeed not that good.

The uploaded files are now either linked from within the page (but this

must be done by hand) or you click on AttachFile (what a *wrong* name!)

to get an overview over all attached files.
