Hi,
sounds exciting.
please allow to me ask the following as a seasoned NetBeans user and Cocoon
newby: What will I lose if I want to use Cocoon 2.2 in NetBeans 5.5.1? Will
I still be able to follow the instructions or do I need to figure everything
myself?
I have almost no experience with Netbeans so treat my answer lightly. The only Eclipse-specific step is generating eclipse's project
description file by using 'eclipse' plugin:
mvn eclipse:eclipse
There is a similar plug-in mentioned here: http://mojo.codehaus.org/netbeans-freeform-maven-plugin/. It mentions that it works with Netbeans
4.x but it may work with Netbeans 5.5.1, you must just try it. Even if you don't find necessary plug-in you can always set up project in
Netbeans manually but it will involve some tedious work of adding all dependencies by hand.
The question should be directed more to Netbeans/Maven lists to find out if Netbeans IDE is supported by Maven. From Cocoon's point of view
it doesn't matter what kind of IDE/editor you use. The rest of instructions will work even if you use basic text editor.
