Hi all,
I'm asked to write a proposal about a XML formdocument (XForms).
From information that I found[1] and the what I read in the
archives of this list (...), I cannot understand if the idea that I
have, is possible at all.
So before starting to dive into it deeply, maybe someone else can
tell me?
The idea is to have a XML formdocument, that is defined to make
connection with various databases via the internet (HTTPS).
Thus with seperate user actions (buttons) data can be pulled or
pushed from it.
Therefore textfield controls and such will be placed on the
formdocument.
And of course users might want to do make content right in the
document, apart from the form elements.
Hi Cor,
I think I understand what you want here with the XForms. Currently, when
using XForms, you create a schema that defines the instances that
will be
used within the XForm. The fields are bound to visual controls such as
lists, text boxes, buttons etc. The instances are stored within the
XForm
document (a modified Writer format).
At this stage, it is not possible to define an instance based on a
datasource.
It is certainly something I would like to see available, but is not
there yet.
