Not sure how to take that remark....hmmm...I will just assume you are not making fun of me. [no further comment required on this point ]

This wouldn't mean you need to invest a few months, and of course you'd
get all the help for the few areas you do not yet know.

There is lots I don't know.

Well, I really don't know if I should be the one to do it  or not - but it should be done I believe. Alex's and Regina's remarks where spot on about this being needed. I think also that there is a great benefit in having such a thing as part of the distribution package. It would, IMO, foster others abilities to write tutorials. The tutorial then could be on extending, or altering some function, without having to always (re)build  the foundation.

So, for now lets just talk about what a good exmaple database would consist of - then I am sure someone will take a stab at writing it. ;-)

i would like to "vote" on a very simple doctor-patient visit db (something which could be generalized to any sort of repeated visit, dentist-patient, mechanic-client, etc.) because it would involve at least two, linked tables each of which might need to be updatable, i.e. a Patients table and a Visits table.

At least one form and subform through which both tables could be updated.  We always figured that if you're going to have this one form open most of the time, why not access most of the other functions from here as well?, i.e. a button or submenu item to run a report of all patients seen today or another button which would print (run a report) in order to print out some sort of simple doctor's prescription and/or a Pass to X-Rays, and/or a Pass to the Lab, etc.

Might the above be some help?  Hope so.

Have a great evening!  :)
