I'd call the macro a workaround because I think the "open form on
startup"-feature is the *real* solution for the problem :)
Two different things...one is a default, one is a way to open any form
in an odb file...but I am splitting hairs perhaps.
Now if Base required a macro for something like..oh, I don't know...like
being able to enter a new record in a sub-form directly after entering a
new record in the master form, without haveing to step off and then back
onto the record in the master form...now that would be a workaround...LOL
Honestly, the real reason I responded to your post was, I felt you
should have been more positive. There is nothing wrong with saying, yes
you can do that..it just needs a macro. My advice, for what it is worth
is - Now and then take off the engineer/PM hat and put on a marketing
hat... :>)
By the way - all things considered the latest developers build of OOo (
180 ) is a definite step forward IMO. Especially when it comes to
working with MySQL 5.x.
