I am using OOo 2.02 on Fedora Core 5, and that does *not* work.

I open the ODT, edit the properties of a data field on the form (the
primary key), go to the Data tab and prefix the column name with the
registered DB name (data field "id" becomes "MyAddressbook.id" or
"MyAddressbook.contact.id" or "MyAddressbook.public.contact.id"), save
changes and the form behavior does not change. No database navigation
controls appear in the window, no data appears in the form, and when I
open the Edit -> Exchange Database dialog, no database is displayed in the
left side of the dialog (Databases in Use). When I look at the properties
of the form control that I changed, the changes are there. But if I use
the drop-down control to see what other data fields are available to
associate with this control, there are none listed.

In other words, the form is not connected to a database. BTW, the database
is registered with OOo as an ODBC connection to a PostgreSQL database
running on localhost.

Have you actually done this to see if it works or are you just telling me
what you think should happen? If you've done this, what version of OOo and
what kind of database connection were you using?
