But I have taken my OO.o copy from OO.o sources directly. So how can I assist you to find out? > > Can I call the 'Search' dialog by > > placing the cursor in a field and then pressing the shortcut Ctrl+F? > Tools/Customize/Keyboard (Extras/Anpassen/Tastatur). The 'Tasten'/'keys' field is empty by default. > Assign any shortcut you like. In the 'Tastenkombinationen'/'shortcuts' field I selected 'Control+F' and pressed the button 'Ändern'/'Apply(?)'. If I move the cursor now into my form field 'Definition' and press Ctrl +F, the 'Datensatz-Suche'/'Find Record' dialog will appear as expected and function all right. The form field 'Definition' is of 'Feldtyp'/'type' Memo [LONGVARCHAR]. > > So far this will insert a small letter into the field only. > Hmm - which kind of field did you try this with? With a usual text > field, Ctrl-F starts Writer's "Search and Replace" dialog. But if I move the cursor now into my other form fields which are of type Text [VARCHAR] and press Ctrl+F, the 'Datensatz-Suche'/'Find Record' dialog will not appear as expected and function all right. Rather it still inserts a small letter 'f' into the field. Why does OO.o Base behave differently in these two similar field types?
