There are number of people active on this and the dba dev lists that
use postgres. I've been using it pretty much daily for the last 2
months or so in setting up the new user community forum and just now
getting into the effort of using the Sun Report Builder to get some
metrics out of it. For myself it's only been with JDBC so far, but I
see at pgFoundry that there are also .net, odbc, and Ole-DB drivers
also. The other folks on the lists will be much more advanced in this
then me.
I wonder if you have also test the native driver for PostgreSQL:
http://dba.openoffice.org/drivers/postgresql/index.html
According to this page you will skip the need for jdbc:
The postgresql SDBC Driver allows to use the postgresql database from
OpenOffice.org without any wrapper layer such as odbc or jdbc.
Actually No I have not. As I said there a lots of guys on this list that
are going to have much more experience with postgres then myself. To be
honest though I didn't think there was much work going on with the sdbc
driver, which really surprises me as it seems that the whole postgres
project is a veritable bee hive of activity. But then I could be wrong
on the lack of work on the sdbc driver also.
