Hi,

as you probably noticed by now, either by following the discussions here
in the list or by own experience, there is a number of problems with
list boxes in OOo 2.4 - list boxes not filling with data (issue 88034),
list boxes which cannot refresh their list programmatically (issue
87690), list boxes which do not display the proper value (issue 87836).
Two of those issues only happen in certain constellations, but are
annoying if they actually hit you.

What I did (well, except originally introducing those problems, my
apologies for that) is fixing the bugs, in the hope of being allowed to
include the fixes in 2.4.1.

To those of you which encounter list box related problems, and are
uncertain whether those problems are already known and addressed: I
invite you to try out the fixes, and see whether they fix your
particular issue, too.

For this, I prepared two archives, containing modified libraries for
Windows respectively Linux. I encourage you to try out those, if and
only if you want to check whether the upcoming 2.4.1 is likely to
resolve your list box related issues. I strictly discourage you from
using those libraries

- if you do /not/ know /exactly/ what you're doing when extracting them

- if you have an OpenOffice.org build which is *not* the official
vanilla build as obatined from http://download.openoffice.org

- in a production environment. They're for testing purpose only, and
while high care has been taken to not introduce additional bugs (as
always, right?), there's no guarantee whatsoever. If the modified
libs eat your data alive, don't complain!

Having said that ... have fun!

Ciao
Frank
