Ah - you fired a synapse in the OLD brain there - forgot that 2.4.0
(H680 M_12) build from go-oo is installed in parallel under XP.

latest 1.0.4 , downloaded a few minutes ago, act the same - grouping
in reports render a blank page. No grouping, report works fine.
This bug is really annoying :-)
I could reproduce it. One difference I encounter is the size of the
sun-report-builder.jar file. The buggy one has something around 257kb
and the one which comes with 1.0.4 has 252397Bytes but I don't know
where I get the buggy version from?
Which size do your jar file have?
