I'd suggest re-opening the issue and attach a document to it. That way
it doesn't get lost. From my experience anything that is not an issue is
non existent to the project. ;)
If you talk about a evolving document (and I suppose you do), then the
Wiki might be more suitable, IMO.

Ah! Yes, that sounds like the right way, but I haven't gotten into wiki
writing yet. Probably time to learn! Definitely talking about an
evolving document, and when I have something I'll add a note to the
issue with a link. Thanks, Marc and Frank.
