I have a problem with one of MySQL databases. Umlauts are not showing
correctly. I have recorded a session with the mysql client which I
think may help to pinpoint the problem.

The output in OOo looks like line 41. IOW, I suspect, something is
amuck with the encoding settings in OOo, here. I use a self-compiled
OOo3 m9 on Ubuntu hardy with the jdbc connector.
Anybody know how to manipulate the encoding used from inside OOo
(looking for the equivalent to "SET NAMES" in mysql)?
