I recently start doing my first project in Base with OOo 2.4.2. Find a
few bugs some are solved in OOo 3.0, others can be worked around.
My project was a just extending a not so well supported free
application. This extending involved macro's as well. What saved my day
a few times was that I made at regular points backup of Base document
and MS Access database.
I started with the following documents (most have been listed by others
as well when you start searching this user list.):
- Learning VB:
"StarOffice 6.0 Office Suite, Basic Programmer's Guide" (from Sun
Microsystems, July 2003)
- Intro BASIC Macros:
"How to Use BASIC Macros in OpenOffice.org" (from The OpenOffice.org
Documentation Project)
- Intro to Base:
"Chapter 10 Getting Started with Base" OppenOffice.org's Database
Component (from OpenOffice.org)
- The very help full:
"OpenOffice.org Base Macro Programming" (by Andrew Pitonyak, rev 34)
- Check Andrew's web site which contains many more info an usefull links:
http://www.pitonyak.org/
- The Forums to find very useful questions/answers:
http://user.services.openoffice.org/
http://www.oooforum.org/
- And of cause Google search. The most difficult thing is to get the
right phrase for your search subject. You will notice that the same
question is asked over and over again, so which search engine are those
users using?

Success and have fun,

Erik
