Andreas, In going through the print procedure again, this time following your step by step directions, I believe that the problem is solved.
There are two ways to get to the mail merge area, one is by using the "Print" command and responding "yes" to the do you want to print a form letter dialog. The second way is by simply clicking on the F4 function key. If I use the print command and then select the data source, the "Data to Fields" icon is greyed out. When using the F4 key and then selecting the data source, the "Data to Fields" option works. That was probably the case all along though I missed it. Problem Solved! Now that this is solved, and I something to work with for awhile, I will begin to work on the ODBC solution. Thanks again for taking the time to help!!!
