Any ideas? I don't find this particularly puzzling: you have two merged cells across four rows of your table, not two cells in two rows. The only reason you would merge cells instead of simply enlarging them is that you want to retain the separate cells in other columns. The rows are still there and are still taken account of in numbering. >Workarounds?
