Larry: I also use Linux and Regina is quite correct about the printing issues (I use both Ubuntu and Fedora).
In case all else fails: One thing that always works for me is to export to pdf after you've set up your page formatting in Libre the way you want it. If you choose the option to "display after generating pdf" (or something like that), you can usually print a lot more reliably from the pdf viewer. Just as a recommendation: You CAN install the Adobe Acrobat reader in almost all versions of Linux - although you may have to search a bit for instructions for your particular flavor of Linux. This has the best and most flexible printing available.
