It's taking really long, it's more than a few months since Univa hired some of
the Oracle Grid Engine developers.

When Sun was doing it, they got everything ready before announcing the project.

Before we decide whether we will keep or shut down open source projects due to
merging, we need to find out what are the terms and conditions of the new one.
And most importantly, we need to find out what are the missing bits that Univa
will keep private, and how Univa is going to react if contributors outside of
Univa implement the missing features in the opne-core.

I am doing everything in Grid Engine/Grid Scheduler not for my own benefit (I
have been contributing fixes & small features since 2001 and did not get a
dollar from Sun or Oracle), but I am doing this for the people who benefit from
my contributions - so the priorities of mine vs. the priorities of Univa will
not be the same.
