Sorry about rebirthing an old thread, but it's too late to change the channel now...
I finally got around to looking at this man page issue again. I descended to the man1 directory and did a ls -lart (only a partial info shown for brevity) Submit.1.gz is present and qsub.1 is soft linked to it. Note that I perform the groff on the qsub and it returns a fatal error below. If I instead run this on submit.1, then I get the 8.1.0 man page as expected. If I perform a 'man submit' then I get the 8.1.0 man page as well, but a man qsub gives me a man page from 2003. Is there some obvious thing about man pages and soft links that I am missing here? Here is my man path [wagrid03.ciena.com(rmaes)]-> man 117> env |grep MAN MANPATH=/corp/tools/grid/v8_1_0/man:/usr/share/man:/usr/X11R6/man:/usr/l ocal/man:/corp/tools/cadence/ius_8_1/share/man [wagrid03.ciena.com(rmaes)]-> man1 118> ls -lart total 172 -rwxrwxr-x 1 gridadm gridadm 23661 May 31 14:19 submit.1.gz ..... lrwxrwxrwx 1 gridadm gridadm 8 Jun 12 14:46 qrsh.1 -> submit.1 lrwxrwxrwx 1 gridadm gridadm 8 Jun 12 14:46 qsh.1 -> submit.1 lrwxrwxrwx 1 gridadm gridadm 8 Jun 12 14:46 qsub.1 -> submit.1 drwxr-xr-x 6 gridadm gridadm 4096 Jun 13 14:20 .. drwxr-xr-x 2 gridadm gridadm 4096 Jun 13 14:20 . In case someone would like to use `man` directly for submit.1: there are two different versions of `man` around, the one on Linux is different than the one on a Mac. For the Linux versions you can also specify a path to a file instead or the command or option -l <name> to avoid the ususal search. On a Mac the option -l doesn't exist and one has to use a path to acces a local file. -- Reuti > This should give you the qsub manpage.
