Hello there, it's me once again :) I have requested the dns authority delegation for my 2.0.0.2.ip6.int (6to4), as you had told me to do (even though the procedure is not complete), but I have another question. I had been using the he.net tunnel broker, because it was quite the only one that gave a /64 prefix (which can be nice to do some tests, not to abuse (read below)). I also sometimes connect to ircnet, just because some friends of mine still stay there - and don't come to the great irc network i'm admin on.. but that's another story ;) Now, the main problem is that the italian v6 servers of ircnet (irc6.ircd.it and irc6.ngnet.it) now just allow a restricted connection from hosts coming from pTLA's not in Italy, and the other servers are planning similar kinds of regulations to avoid "v6 abuses" - such as v6 mirkforces. And it's quite boring not even being able to change the nick... I switched to 6to4, but there are some problems: 1) I still cannot reach any other v6 ircnet server except irc6.ircd.it and irc.irc6.net 2) I am restricted on irc6.ircd.it and often I can't reach irc.irc6.net (which, if I'm not wrong, it's the same as irc.missingu.com) 3) some people using tunnels (cselt or edisontel, if I'm not wrong) claim they can't reach my 6to4 addresses (I mostly use 2002:9726:3e6::1)
So, now the question is ... what to do? Keep on using a 6to4 address? Switching back to tunnels? But which tunnel? I'd need some IPs and edisontel and cselt just give a /127 prefix (and one of those two addresses is used as an endpoint, so you end up just having a single /128 address), possibly with reverse dns authority delegation. Unluckily, I'm not a company, so I cannot apply for a subnet, since most of the tunnel brokers allow you to get a subnet if you are a company... well, actually, I'm part of a no-profit company: my IRC network (discussioni.org).
