Yes, they do (and I even believe that I read once that working reverse
DNS is compulsary for those running public/globally accessible IPv6
networks):

An Autonomous System Number, or ASN, as far as I have understood it is
an identifier used in the routing tables to be able to tell what
should go where. You don't need to obtain one (which I imagine might
be quite difficult these days given that there is only a 16-bit space
available) but can use a private one. I'm using 65000 since that one
is in the private range and I do not have any ASN of my own.

You'll need to create an ipv6-site object (if you need an example of
what one can look at, you can take a look at mine at
http://whois.6bone.net/cgi-bin/whois?WOLFPACK ). Most of the field
names are fairly self explanationary, and there is documentation
available in case you need it. Just don't fill out any prefix field to
start with if you want your new ISP (UUnet, or whoever) to assign one
to you. That helps make things more clear. You can always fill it in
afterwards (that's what I did).

I don't see why you would need two subnets for that. If you want to
run traffic internally as well (analogous to RFC 1918 IPv4 addresses),
you can and even should use the FEC0::/10 prefix, which is site local.

I tried a few ISPs closer geographically but after a week or so
considered them to have dropped the issue. Who knows what it'd mean if
they take one week to respond to a request in terms of response time
if something fails? Completely unacceptable. UUnet responded within a
few days, and I wrote them over a weekend so I was very impressed with
their response time (basically instantaneous).

Hope this helps,
